After we arrived in Juneau on our fast boat ride, we took a bus tour to the Mendenhall Glacier. It was a huge ice glacier with a beautiful waterfall right next to it. I overheard someone telling a ranger he had been there 35 years ago and the glacier had been where they were standing. It turns out that the glacier is shrinking at the rate of approximately 12 feet per year. I'm glad we got to see it before it's gone.
