In spite of the rain, we had a nice time at this park. It is set beside Reflection Lake, which is beautiful, and we got to see beaver, ducks, and trumpeter swans. Inside the lodge, there are 10,180 hats hanging from the walls and ceiling--that is quite a sight!
This place was named by the workers on the Alaska Highway because things had to be "towed" across the lake. In time, it became shortened to Toad, and so it has remained.
On the way here we saw a bear by the roadside, and beaver lodges beside the road. We stopped at Tesla for cinnamon buns (huge and delicious) and finally figured out what card lock means at a gas station (go inside and an attendant will turn the pump on with a card).
