Spent the last three days in a great state park camping with close family. This park has miles of easy hiking trails that go through varied habitats: wetlands, grasslands and hardwood forests. Trumpeter swans, sandhill cranes with young, geese, and various warblers including a golden-winged warbler. An evening hike did not produce any owls but did bring us face-to-face with a fisher, a large member of the weasel family. Don't see them very often so that sighting was a special event. Evening campfires in wonderful weather closed every day. If this is a sample of what is to come during the remaining months of this adventure, we a in for a phenomenal trip.
