Today we saw the bears in Chinitna Bay. It was a beautiful day and the flight was amazing. Scott landed us on the beach and we got in a bus to drive over to the river to get a close up view of the bears eating salmon and digging up clams. Al our guide strapped on a shotgun and away we went. The bears were 7-10 feet away at times and we paid money for this experience! The crunch and breaking of bones as the bears ate salmon was enjoyed by some. The power of their bite can only be imagined. On our way back to Anchorage Scott circled when he noticed Beluga whales in the water below us. Marshmallows in the water.
