What a fun place! First, there is the natural beauty and wildlife of Denali National Park (the park, not the mountain, because, for the third time we were NOT among the 20-30% of people who actually got to see Mt. McKinley. We actually think it is a tourist ploy and does not exist.) Second, there are lots of things to do. We shopped the tourist haunts (that actually had some good deals on Alaskan souvenirs), visited the Denali National Park sled dog area, took the 8 hour bus ride into the visitor center, and last, but most certainly not least, used another of our Alaska TourSaver 2-for-1 coupons (from Safeway) to attend the Fantastic Cabin Night dinner and theater. What a great experience - lots of friendly fun, with waiters serving family style dinner and then taking turns singing during the meal. The food was the best we have had at this type of evening. The show that followed told the story of the early Alaskan miners in song and comedy, and audience participation added to the fun.
We can’t share the experience with just one picture, so to see all the animals we saw in the park (and it was a lot (including a rare lynx siting), more fun at the show and the beauty of the area go to our Picasa Web Album at https://picasaweb.google.com/105922292795547562533
