Yukon River crossing ferry

Access to Alaska comes via the George Black, a free car ferry that shuttles motorists of all kinds (cars, RVs and motorcycles) across the Yukon River and toward the Alaska-Canada border. The ferry operates nearly 24 hours a day during the summer months.

Eagle - Yukon River


Eagle, Alaska presents a unique opportunity to visit a community that is cut off from the outside world most of the year – the only road leading from town is not maintained in winter. The charming little town sits on the banks of the Yukon River and its active local historical society has carefully maintained its historical record.
